Mississippi Learning Center Adopts Curriculum Management Software
As part of its ongoing effort to provide schools in eastern Mississippi with resources to improve student achievement, the East Mississippi Center for Educational Development (EMCED) has adopted a multimedia curriculum management tool. The organization partnered with Curriculum Advantage, maker of curriculum software Classworks, citing the company's success in helping schools statewide improve student performance on the Mississippi Curriculum Test--2nd Edition (MCT2).
The Mississippi edition of the company's Classworks supplemental curriculum software offers both supplemental skill-level instruction and practice and skill development activities, all specifically aligned to the state's educational standards. Schools can import previous MCT2 scores in order to design individualized learning paths for each student designed to optimize study and development and improve future scores. In addition, the software includes extensive assessment tools for ongoing evaluation and progress monitoring throughout the school year.
"We are very selective about the organizations we choose to partner with," said Don Brantley, executive director of EMCED. "Classworks is right on track with the state curriculum frameworks and the MCT2, which is what our districts really like about it. We look forward to working with Curriculum Advantage to present the program to our members, and to improving the overall education process in our school districts."
