Pearson Brings Digital STEM Courses to NovaNet

Pearson has added four new courses to NovaNet, its digital learning platform for students in grades 6 through 12, as well as adult learners.

NovaNet's multimedia platform combines the extensive standards-aligned content offered by Pearson subsidiary Prentice Hall with videos, animations, interactive activities, and virtual labs. The four new courses include:

• Physical Science
  • 98 multimedia lessons;
  • Videos demonstrating real-world applications of scientific principles and concepts;
  • Writing on science topics;
  • "Science in Your Life" lessons to explore how concepts learned from course lessons can be applied in the real world.
    
• Earth Science:
  • 85 multimedia lessons;
  • Interactive diagrams and illustrations;
  • Timeline of milestones in geology;
  • Glossary of terms, including audio pronunciation;
  • Vocabulary activities for mastery of course terminology and concepts.
    
• Chemistry:
  • 95 multimedia lessons;
  • Interactive periodic table of elements;
  • Embedded links to more detailed information;
  • Practice questions;
  • Real-world science examples and data;
  • Instruction on lab safety.
    
• Algebra 1:
  • 76 video-driven lessons;
  • Key algebraic concepts, including equations, basic and advanced functions, graphing, and factoring;
  • Integrated support to help students understand and correctly apply concepts to problem solving.
