Brief Carnegie Learning Previews Middle School Math Software

Carnegie Learning has released a preview of its Math Series, available as demonstration problems, video walkthroughs, and a text-sampling tool.

The Carnegie Learning Math Series is targeted at students in grades 6-8, and is an expansion of the company's high school math curricula. The program includes Carnegie Learning Math Textbooks and Carnegie Learning MATHia software and is aligned with both Common Core State Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice.

MATHia focuses on motivation and engagement and personalizes each student's learning path according to knowledge, cognitive skill, and areas of interest such as:

  • Sports and fitness;
  • Art and music;
  • Money and business; and
  • The environment and nature.

The Carnegie Learning Math Series will be available for implementation in fall 2011.

Further information can be found here, and Webinars presenting the program in various contexts are available here.
