Capstone Digital To Award $2 Million in Literacy Grants

Capstone Digital is accepting applications for Capstone Assisting Remarkable Educators, a $2 million grant program to help schools purchase myON reader.

MyON reader is a personalized literacy environment that includes more than 1,100 digital books. MyON creates individual profiles with recommended book lists based on reading ability and interest and includes reading supports such as audio, highlighting, and a dictionary. The program allows administrators to forecast reading growth by class, grade, building, and district. Teachers and students can also track what students read, how long it takes them, and how well they comprehend the material through a growth chart and dashboard.

CARE will match school funds for a minimum purchase of $4,250. All K-12 public, private, parochial, and charter schools in the United States are eligible. To apply, schools must complete and submit a CARE grant form, available here, by 12 p.m. CDT May 31, 2011.

CARE grant winners will be announced June 3.

More information about myON is available at thefutureinreading.com.
