Shmoop Adds Game Features
Digital curriculum and test preparation company Shmoop has added shmoints, 1,549 new literature quizzes and school leaderboards to its website.
Shmoints are points students can use to earn leaderboard spots and can be earned in a variety of ways, including:
- Logging in;
- Taking quizzes;
- Inviting friends;
- Signing up for PSAT, SAT, ACT, CAHSEE, or AP test preps;
- Writing papers in the essay lab; and
- Filling out your profile.
Currently, top scorers can earn t-shirts with additional prizes to come.
"Shmoints add a fun, competitive element to our ACT prep class. In fact, we are awarding prizes to our students and tutors who score the most shmoints," said Serge Danielson-Francois, librarian at Divine Child High School in Dearborn, MI. "Shmoop turns tedious, required practice into measurable, shared fun."
Shmoop features learning guides, test prep, and teacher resources with academically rigorous materials and an irreverent style. It includes more than 7,000 titles for the Internet, iOS devices, Android devices, Kindles, Nooks, and Sony Readers.
