ViewSonic Introduces Affordable Classroom in a Box Solution
At ISTE in Philadelphia, ViewSonic introduced its classroom-in-a-box solution, the ViewSonic MultiClient.
The system consists of the VMH700 Host PC and the VMA10 MultiClient Adapter. Up to 10 student workstations, each consisting of a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, can connect to each host PC. A classroom of 30 students would require only three PCs, which makes the system an affordable way to provide every student with computer access for research, content-creation, and collaboration. According to Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing manager for ViewSonic, the ViewSonic MultiClient also reduces IT management costs by eliminating compatibility issues.
The ViewSonic MultiClient gives teachers complete control over student workstations, including the ability to:
- Monitor activity on every station;
- Control student access to computer programs;
- Share screens for enhanced collaboration;
- Project their own desktop to students;
- Lock students keyboards and mice and display a message;
- Restrict Internet browsing to specific sites; and
- Split a display into two separate displays.
The ViewSonic MultiClient VMH700 Host PC and VMA10 MultiClient Adapter will be available in July 2011. Further information about the ViewSonic MultiClient can be found on the company’s site.
