The Goddard School Adopts New Notification System

Teachers and administrators at the Goddard School have a new way to push timely news and information to its parents and students. The school, headquartered in King of Prussia, PA. and serving educational centers in more than 380 locations, has signed an agreement to use OneCommand's CommunitySafe service for its school-home communication needs.

CommunitySafe is a Web-based notification system that disseminates information, instantly, to users via voice, e-mail, and text messaging. Goddard uses the multi-channel communication system to notify families about weather issues, school events, emergency and disaster situations, and staff updates.

Karyn Smykowski, owner of The Goddard School in Toms River, NJ., anticipates the new system will come in handy during emergencies or in times of inclement weather when the school has to quickly reach parents and staff. "At The Goddard School we have up to 200 families and 25 staff members," Smykowski explained, "that would be impossible to reach in an emergency such as snow days or even most recently power outages."

More information about CommunitySafe is available at the company's Web site.
