InstaEDU Adds SAT Prep Reduces Fees
InstaEDU, a company that connects students with online tutors, has added several new features, including SAT preparation and the ability to schedule tutoring sessions in advance.
Launched as a public beta service in May with funding from the Social+Capital Partnership, InstaEDU provides on-demand tutoring so that "students can connect with subject experts the moment a question arises," according to information released by the company.
InstaEDU's tutors are current or recently graduated students from "top colleges like Stanford or Harvard," according to information on the company's Web site.
With the update, students will be able to select a tutor and schedule lessons in advance, rather than as questions arise. Users will also be able to set up ongoing lessons with tutors they connect with at a reduced rate of $22 an hour, as compared to the service's $30 per hour a la carte rate.
"Every student learns differently and at their own pace, so personal attention is a critical component of academic success," said Alison Johnston, CEO and cofounder of InstaEDU. "As class sizes grow and courses move online, our goal is to allow any student to receive one-on-one academic support whenever and wherever they need it. This is another step in that direction."
