T.H.E. Journal Introduces New Magazine App
FETC 2013 Attendees to Get First Look

Chatsworth, CA — 1105 Media Education Group previews its new T.H.E. Journal magazine app at their flagship K-12 event, FETC 2013, January 28-31 in Orlando, FL, allowing all conference attendees to test drive a new interactive magazine-reading experience. The app delivers all the latest K-12 technology news, multimedia features, and interactive content of the digital magazine and is designed and formatted specifically for the Apple iPad®.

“With the increasing adoption of iPads by our subscribers, we wanted to offer our readers a chance to experience the full multimedia version of the digital magazine on their iPads – giving them the enhanced readability and functionality they need anytime and anywhere,” says Wendy LaDuke, President and Group Publisher, Education Group.

The app features all sections of the digital magazine including links to videos, live web feeds, websites, microsites, product information, photo slideshows, and much more. It also features offline reading, quick and easy bookmarking, and share options for articles, interviews, videos, and slideshows across social media and e-mail.

After celebrating its 40th anniversary, T.H.E. Journal went completely digital in August 2012, launching the industry’s first browser-based all-digital version of the magazine, complete with the same interactive multimedia features that will now be available on the iPad. The online magazine and new magazine app are provided to subscribers free of charge. All subscribers will have access to the new magazine app with the February 14, 2013 issue.

For subscribers who have been accessing the browser-based digital magazine anytime since August, T.H.E. Journal is entering their names into a prize drawing for a chance to win a $5,000 all-inclusive vacation for two. The winner will be announced on January 31, 2013 at the 3:15pm closing session of FETC.  Throughout 2013, T.H.E. Journal will continue to give away an iPad mini each month to subscribers who access the magazine through the new app or the online browser-based version.
