Panasonic To Roll Out Interactive Whiteboards with Embedded PC

Panasonic has added four new interactive whiteboards with an integrated PC to its existing array of interactive, visual-based Panaboard whiteboard products.

The UB-T880 Series whiteboards, which feature an integrated Intel Core i5 2520M processor embedded within the devices themselves, are designed to offer greater versatility to the classroom environment by eliminating the need for a separate PC or device to control the interactive whiteboard. Additionally, Instructors can assess their students in real-time on their personal computer while students interact with the board.

The Panaboard UB-T880 Series whiteboards with imbedded PC include HD audio, HDMI and Ethernet outputs, and Microsoft Windows 7. The PC has WiFi capabilities and its own unique IP address so that presenters can e-mail content directly to the board.

"We're constantly looking for ways to simplify technology for our customers. For classrooms or meeting rooms that don't already have personal computers, the UB-T880 Series with embedded PC offers the functionality of a PC while reducing the expense of purchasing one for every location," said Joseph Odore, Product Manager for Imaging Products at Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, in a prepared statement.

The new models are available in two sizes--a widescreen 86-inch diagonal viewing surface and a 77-inch surface with 3:4 aspect ratio.

Additional Panaboard features include:

  • Plug-and-play capability
  • Simultaneous operation
  • Optional mobile cart
  • Multi-touch surface
  • Dynamic image control
  • Presenter Pen
  • Built-in stereo speakers.

The new Panasonic UB-T880 Series whiteboards with embedded PC are currently on display this week at the FETC 2013 conference in Orlando, FL.

The new whiteboards will be available through authorized Panasonic retailers beginning Feb. 1, 2013. For more information about the UB-T880 Series whiteboards with embedded PC or other Panasonic products, visit panasonic.com.
