Splashtop Demos Remote Access Whiteboard Apps at FETC

Splashtop is at the Florida Education Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando, FL this week to demonstrate two of its mobile technology applications.

Splashtop for Business allows mobile users to remotely access computer applications and data from their mobile devices, and Splashtop Whiteboard is an application that converts an iPad or Android tablet into an interactive whiteboard.

Capitalizing on the BYOD trend in schools, the apps offer teachers greater flexibility in the classroom. Instructors can move freely about the classroom with their iPads while engaging directly with students and monitoring their work. They also can send parents real-time examples of their children's work.

"Education innovation is a huge focus for us," said Mark Lee, CEO and co-founder of Splashtop, in a prepared statement. "Since last year's introduction, Splashtop for Business is gaining momentum among educational institutions looking to maximize mobile technology in their classrooms."

According to the company, more than 800 teachers in Southern California's Val Verde Unified School District were outfitted with iPads and Splashtop's Whiteboard application.

Special educational pricing for Splashtop for Business is available at the Splashtop Web site.

Splashtop Whiteboard for iPad is available for $19.99 from the Apple App Store. Splashtop Whiteboard for Android, Nook, and Kindle Fire can be downloaded for $9.99.

Splashtop is demonstrating the applications at FETC booth 1425 in the Orange County Convention Center.
