NEC Eyes Affordability with New Pro Install Projector
NEC Display Solutions has taken aim at the entry-level end of the professional installation projector market with its latest offering, the PE401-H, which retails for $1,999 while boasting light output of 4,000 Lumens, 1080p native resolution, and up to 2,000:1 contrast ratio.
Among the projector's features is the ECO mode option it presents to users, which can extend approximate lamp life from 2,500 to 3,300 hours by lowering the light output to about 3,000 Lumens, according to product specifications. This reduction in output also lowers power consumption.
Other green features include a power management function that automatically turns off the projector when an incoming signal is not detected from any of its inputs, ensuring that the projector is being powered only when it is in use.
Inputs include RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), dual HDMI (with HDCP) inputs for quick switching between HD displays via remote control, composite video, and a 3.5 mm stereo minijack.
The projector retails with a 3-year limited parts and labor warranty and the lamp is covered for one year or 500 hours, whichever comes first. Education customers can receive an additional year on their warranties and "Star Student" customers can receive an additional two years on their warranties with product registration.
