Arkansas Department of Ed Adds Digital Resources for all Teachers and Students

Teachers and students, as well as their families, in Arkansas now have access to a suite of online educational resources thanks to the state's Department of Education.

In an effort to prepare for the Common Core State Standards, the department has provided free access to several Britannica Digital Learning products, including:

• Britannica School, an interactive "classroom information solution," according to a news release, that features alignment with the Common Core and state standards and support for differentiated learning;
• Pathways: Science, a classroom program designed to "transform misconceptions into understanding through inquiry-based exploration," according to the company's Web site;
• Britannica E-Books focused on science, technology education and math;
• Image Quest, which includes nearly 3 million images, divided into more than 50 collections and cleared for use in education. Every photo or illustration includes "citations and complete metadata, including the source, the copyright holder, caption, and keywords," according to Britannica's site; and
• SmartMath Practice, an interactive program for students in grades K-8 with a game-like interface designed for differentiated instruction or additional practice in the classroom or at home.
