Fourier Brings Mobile Science Learning Lab to U.S. Schools

Fourier Education is bringing its einstein Tablet+ to the United States. The devices, designed to function as a mobile science learning lab, is currently in use in schools in more than 60 countries.
The announcement was made at the FETC 2014 conference taking place this week in Orlando, FL.
The einstein Tablet+ is an Android-based device created specifically for science education. It comes pre-installed with a range of science-focused software tools, including MiLAB (for data analysis), and is equipped with a number of sensors, including temperature, humidity, heart rate, visible light and UV, in addition to standard tablet inputs and sensors, like a microphone, accelerometer and GPS. It also includes five expansion ports for attaching additional sensors or peripherals.
The 7-inch device runs Google's Android 4.2.1 OS and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Rockchip dual-core SoC. Other hardware features include:
- Front and rear cameras;
- WiFi and Bluetooth support;
- A MicroSD card slot for storage expansion;
- 1 GB DDR3 RAM with 4 GB internal storage;
- HDMI out;
- Four mini USB ports; and
- One micro USB port.
"The mission behind the einstein Tablet+ is to celebrate the most rewarding part of teaching-that moment when your students' eyes light up, smiles cross their faces, and they let out an unequivocal 'a-ha!'" said Ken Zwiebel, CEO of Fourier Education, in a prepared statement. "We want to hear more a-ha moments across every corner of the country. That's why we've brought the einstein Tablet+ to the U.S. We believe it will answer the call to help teachers bring science to life for our nation's young minds, igniting their passion for STEM, setting them on a path for personal success, and helping them grow into the future leaders of America."
Fourier is hosting a sweepstakes that will be giving away one Tablet+ per week beginning in February. Sweepstakes details are available on Fourier's Facebook page.
Fourier is also hosting a competition at the National Science Teachers Association 2014 conference in April, called the einstein STEMathon, that will ask science teachers to create innovative experiments using the Tablet+. Technology and cash prizes for the grand prize winner will total $7,500. Other prizes will also be awarded.
Fourier is exhibiting in booth 518 in the FETC exhibit hall.
