K8e Partners With Flying Start to Make E-Books for Early Readers

K8e (pronounced “Katie”), an HTML 5 e-book platform, has formed a partnership with Flying Start Books, which specializes in books for elementary and middle school. The  K8e platform allows teachers to customize content for each individual student and offers metrics that tracks students’ progress. K8e produces multi-device content that readers can access on any operating system, directly in an Internet browser, without downloading software. User can also download books to read offline.

Flying StartBooks will use K8e to distribute its Red Rocket Readers series of early reading interactive and read-aloud e-books directly from the company’s website to their clients. The e-books will feature narration with word-for-word highlighting and a hyperlinked table of contents to facilitate navigation. Readers will be able to click on a word for pronunciation, take notes as they read and leave bookmarks.
