Online Tool Lets Teachers Develop and Track Behavior Plans

Next month, Rethink will release a new tracking tool for monitoring and conducting behavior assessments that also provides resources to assist in creating and implementing student behavior plans.

Rethink--which is perhaps better known for its Autism-focused, video-based curriculum and PD services--designed the behavior support tool, which was developed by teachers, in part to help teachers to identify student behavior challenges.

Using it, teachers collect and input various information about student behavior. Taken together, that data can be analyzed, and from that teachers can conduct behavior assessments, create behavior support plans, and track student progress on the platform.

According to the company, educators can integrate students’ Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PIBS) plans as well as track time spent on compliance with IDEA requirements regarding behavior support. A library of instructional videos on related topics is also available.

The tool has been piloted by several educators over the past few months and is slated for a September release, both for tablets and the web.
