Miami School Adopts Student Device Management App

A school in Miami, FL is the first formal customer for a new application intended to manage student access to the Internet. Pinecrest Preparatory Middle-High School is adopting NetReferee to help teachers keep students on task. The new software operates with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and works on devices running iOS, Android, Chrome or Windows.
NetReferee allows teachers to supervise the Internet access of a single student, a classroom or an entire school.

The idea of NetRef is to give adults visibility into what young users are doing online. That management can apply to a single student, a classroom or the entire school. Next spring the company expects to release a version of the software for home use too.

"We invest in our teachers and students by adopting state-of-the-art technologies that simplify classroom management and provide the tools our students need to realize their potential academically," said Pinecrest Principal Betty Nuñez. "We are excited to pioneer NetRef and work closely with their team to integrate it into our existing IT system."
