Splashtop Now Allows Remote Access to Whiteboards From More Devices

Splashtop Classroom software can now be used to remotely control Sharp interactive display systems, including whiteboards, from almost any mobile device.

Splashtop has announced that it has become a Strategic Technology Alliance Resource (STAR) member, meaning its software can be used to control and present content on Sharp's Aquos Board interactive display systems from almost any device, including Chromebooks, iPads, Android, Windows PCs and Macs.

"With the Sharp Aquos Board display, anyone can move freely around a room and interact with participants," said Splashtop CEO and President Mark Lee.

Teachers can not only control whiteboards or projectors from anywhere in the classroom, they can also allow students to answer questions directly on their devices without coming to the front of the room. At the same time, with the new partnership, teachers can stream video from any device in the room and allow multiple students the ability to control the whiteboard screen directly from their mobile devices.

Gina Rye, a teacher at Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley, CA, said, "The simple connectivity to the desktop is something I haven't seen with other apps. I can import pictures, background and more to save as flipcharts."
