Insight Ed Adds Video Calibration, Professional Development Tools to Observation Platform

Insight Education has launched a pair of tools, AdvanceCalibrate and AdvanceLearn, to complement its recently released AdvanceFeedback teacher observation platform.

AdvanceFeedback allows teachers to record themselves in class as they teach using their school's existing video capture tools. They can then upload the video to the platform to be accessed by observers, coaches or colleagues, who in turn provide detailed feedback reports.

AdvanceCalibrate is designed to improve the reliability of those observations among participants by calibrating scores beforehand with master-scored videos.

AdvanceLearn is designed to support "personalized, data-driven, professional development through interactive e-learning experiences," according to a news release. "For assurance that all content is addressed and understood, trainings can be arranged into workflows, including automated follow-up for users who don't pass embedded assessments."

The cloud-based system, collectively dubbed Insight Advance, can be integrated with existing HR systems and allows for management and reporting of all three systems from anywhere, anytime.

"Additionally, Insight's team of experienced teachers, administrators and education technology specialists can provide specialized support, including leading engaging trainings, building customized video libraries and designing interactive e-learning modules, to ensure real and lasting professional growth, according to information released by the company.

"With Insight Advance, we set out to provide an opportunity for school and district leaders to take charge of every step in the evaluation cycle — from observer calibration to coaching to professional learning — with a flexible, online platform that seamlessly integrates video and promotes professional growth," said Michael Moody, CEO of Insight Education, in a prepared statement.
