Greenwood Hall To Acquire Gambassa LMS for K-12 Expansion

Greenwood Hall, a provider of student lifecycle management tools, will acquire Gambassa's cloud-based learning management system.

Features of the LMS, which is projected to be available in early 2015, when the acquisition is also expected to be completed, include:

  • Collaboration tools;
  • A publishing engine;
  • Analytics tools;
  • Support for multiple learning modalities; and
  • Gamification.

As part of the deal, which is designed to help speed up Greenwood Hall's expansion into the K-12 market, Gambassa Founder and CEO will become chief creative officer at Greenwood Hall.

"We are excited about the unique value proposition this technology will bring to schools, educators and students," said John R. Hall, III, CEO of Greenwood Hall, in a prepared statement. "This transaction demonstrates our ability to execute on our growth strategy by expanding our end-to-end solution with a new turnkey offering for existing postsecondary clients and entering the K-12 market with a meaningful solution. We see significant opportunity in the K-12 market, which is challenged by the wide-spread adoption of Common Core curricula and the movement to integrate education with new technologies. We envision this platform as a game-changer for education in multiple areas — how our K-12 and postsecondary systems work together for the benefit of our students, collaborative learning and the ability to embed student success directly into the learning process."
