Shmoop Expands Spanish Language Options
Shmoop has expanded its options for English language learners (ELL).
"To help ELLs prepare for the always-dreaded standardized tests, Shmoop offers premium test prep in Spanish for the
SAT and ACT exams,
the GED test and the CAHSEE, as well as English-language Texas EOC prep, with discounts available for schools and districts," according to a
news release.
The company is also offering free resources, such as flash cards for bilingual fluency, a guide to the differences between English and
Spanish grammar and idioms and clickable "pins" that explain Shmoop's jokes and references.
The company's resources for ELLs are listed in a single
page and the company plans to release additional resources for teacher support, along with guides for books frequently assigned in AP
Spanish literature and culture courses.
"We don't expect everyone to agree on the future of bilingual education," said Ellen Siminoff, president and CEO of Shmoop, in a prepared
statement. "Our goal is to provide the breadth and depth of resources necessary for any English Language Learner to succeed."
