Knovation, Northwest Evaluation Association Partner on OERs, Assessments

Knovation is partnering with the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) in an effort to close the "assessment-instruction loop."

The partnership pairs NWEA's new Skills Navigator with Knovation's collection of curated open educational resources (OERs).

Skills navigator is a Web-based classroom assessment tool designed to measure math, reading and English language usage skills. Designed for use in grades K-8, Skills Navigator features 5-15 minute assessments, supports Tier II Response to Intervention progress monitoring, offers a pool of more than 10,000 items and measures more than 1,000 different skills.

"Together, Skills Navigator and Knovation's OER collection help teachers seamlessly assign differentiated instruction using quality, reliable digital resources to help every student grow based on what skills need work," according to a news release.

"Skills Navigator is a powerful tool for educators who are looking to use data to guide instruction," said Randy Wilhelm, CEO of Knovation, in a prepared statement. "By infusing Knovation's professionally curated collection of OER, the tool becomes even stronger. This marriage will help teachers close achievement gaps and support students with diverse needs."
