Nearpod Adds Google Classroom Integration

Nearpod, a company that provides tools to sync learning resources and content across devices, has integrated its technology with Google Classroom. As a result of the new integration, teachers will be able to instantly share and assign interactive Nearpod lessons via the learning management system.

"In addition to Google Classroom integration, Nearpod also has a number of other Google integrations including Google Single Sign-on for all platforms, access to Google Drive and Google Images, the ability to add YouTube videos to a lesson and broadcast them to student devices and the ability for students to save class notes to Google Drive," along with more on the way, according to a news release.

"In the last year, we've been impressed by the explosive growth of Google Apps for Education (GAFE) and Google Classroom in particular. With this integration, Nearpod is one step closer to providing teachers a seamless way to easily leverage the benefits of both Nearpod and GAFE." said Guido Kovalskys, CEO of Nearpod, in a prepared statement. "We are excited to deepen our integration with Google with today's announcement and allow teachers to share interactive lessons seamlessly with their students, and get immediate formative assessment through the Nearpod platform.

Throughout September the company is offering a free year of Nearpod for new schools that agree to a two-year commitment. New schools will also receive the Nearpod + Common Sense Digital Citizenship curriculum for free.
