NSTA Unveils 'Enhanced' E-Books for Science Teachers

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) has launched a suite of electronic books, NSTA eBooks+, designed for science teachers.

The "enhanced" e-books are designed to improve content knowledge and pedagogy and feature self-directed learning experiences, images, animations, videos, simulations, assessments and correlation with the Disciplinary Core Ideas of the Next Generation Science Standards.

The new books include:

• Cell Structure and Function;
• Coral Reef Ecosystems;
• Electric & Magnetic Forces;
• Energy;
• Force and Motion;
• Interdependence of Life;
• Solar System; and
• Universe.

"As iPads and other tablet computers have become more prevalent in the classroom, the need to provide teachers with relevant, high-quality content in an interactive, easy-to-navigate package has become more important," said David Beacom, publisher and associate executive director at NSTA. "Our eBooks+ combine the best of traditional books and interactive media, offering a dynamic, media-rich experience for science teachers."

The books are available in the organization's Science Store at $14.36 for NSTA members and $17.95 for non-members.
