Blackbaud Adds LTI Compliance for onCampus

Blackbaud's onCampus learning management system (LMS) is now compliant with Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), providing schools with standardized information sharing between onCampus and Microsoft OneNote Class Notebook, as well as other education technology tools.

LTI is a standard developed by the IMS Global Learning Consortium. LTI certification enables remote tools and content to be integrated into a learning management system. "By opening our products to LTI provider tools and streamlining workflows through our partnership with Microsoft, we're making it easier for teachers, students and parents to use the tools that supplement instruction, grading and reporting tasks," said Travis Warren, president of Blackbaud's K-12 Private Schools Group, in a news release.

Microsoft OneNote Class Notebook lets teachers create lessons and assignments for students to complete individually or collaboratively. The integration of onCampus with OneNote Class Notebook through LTI lets teachers share information between both tools. "Schools will discover that this new integration will both enhance the learning experience for students and save teachers time," said Anthony Salcito, vice president of Worldwide Education for Microsoft. Blackbaud and Microsoft have also announced plans to add single sign-on capabilities between the two systems.

In addition to OneNote Class Notebook, Blackbaud onCampus also integrates with Turnitin's formative feedback tool and SoftChalk's e-learning content authoring software.
