Ohio School District Taps Digital Content for Personalized Learning

Brunswick City Schools in Ohio has entered a seven-year partnership with Discovery Education, in an effort to improve student engagement and to incorporate digital content into classrooms.

Through the partnership, all K–12 Brunswick City educators will integrate the Science Techbook and have access to the Discovery Education Streaming Plus service that supplements instruction across all curricular areas. Additionally, middle school educators will integrate the Social Studies Techbook. The “techbooks” are “digital textbooks that are aligned to rigorous standards, support a comprehensive curriculum, and are updated regularly at no cost,” according to Discovery Education. They can be used in one-to-one or group environments.

The district can also utilize advice from the Discovery Education Community as it implements the digital content in schools.

“Brunswick City Schools’ digital transition is dedicated to more deeply engaging our students in learning and providing them the opportunities to develop the skills they need to be successful in the Information Age,” said Michael Mayell, district superintendent, in a prepared statement.
