Nonprofit Receives Funding to Bring Personalized Learning to 40 Bay Area Schools
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, led by Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and pediatrician Priscilla Chan, has awarded a San Francisco education nonprofit a four-year grant to expand its personalized learning and family support initiatives in Bay Area public schools in underserved communities.
The exact grant amount was not disclosed, but Edsurge said the nonprofit received $1–$2 million. According to a news release, PowerMyLearning will use the grant to “expand its presence tenfold by 2020, serving a projected 40 schools and more than 10,000 students” through increasing its staff size and offering new programs.
