Frontline Ed Acquires Prologic

Frontline Education, with HR solutions for K-12 education, has acquired Prologic Technology Systems, which produces Total Education Administrative Management Solution (TEAMS). Frontline serves 12,000 educational organizations that represent about 80,000 schools and was itself acquired last fall by Thoma Bravo, a private equity investment firm that invests primarily in software companies.

Over time, the latest purchase will bolster Frontline's technology suite, Insights Platform, with functionality in payroll, financials, benefits and student information systems. In the meantime, the acquiring company intends to expand the reach for TEAMS into new geographic areas. Prologic serves about 730,000 students, most in Texas. However, recently, Martin County School District in Florida signed onto TEAMS for human resources, payroll and benefits and financial management work.

This will be the first of many post-acquisition moves to expand geographically, said Jeff Pepper, president of Prologic, in a prepared statement. "As we continue to grow into additional districts and states as part of the Frontline Education team, we have increased confidence in our ability to effectively serve our clients, expand our reach and continue to positively impact the education community."
