CatchOn has enhanced its data analytics platform with a new add-on module for class-level data, among other updates. The product was announced at ISTE 2019 today in Philadelphia, and will launch ahead of the 2019-2020 school year.

The CatchOn platform provides a dashboard view of all applications, websites and subscriptions being used across all devices in a school or district, in real time. With the new class-level module, which leverages IMS Global's OneRoster specification for integrating roster and enrollment data, administrators have access to granular data on technology use in individual classrooms — enabling better decision-making for technology investments, professional development, student data privacy policies and more. Other new features include customizable dashboards and data views, app management features, the ability to import license and renewal information, and enhanced reporting tools.

"Currently, we utilize [CatchOn] to monitor and assess application usage at the building level, which has been extremely beneficial both in terms of curriculum development and measuring the ROI of our technology investments," commented Jill Pierce, CTO at Tennessee's McMinn County School System, in a statement. "Pinpointing our data to the class level will enable us to further personalize the learning experience for our students because we'll have a detailed picture of which apps and online tools are truly effective for our students and staff."
