Esports League Bundling Gaming PCs into Membership

An esports league that caters to high schools has begun offering a bundle deal that includes three years of league membership and six gaming computers. The High School Esports League, which claims a membership of 1,500 high schools, is offering the "HSEL Esports Equipment Bundle" for $4,000 per year.

The program includes unlimited access to HSEL competitions for the three years for any number of teams and students, a fixed membership price and six player Maingear Vybe PCs with Razer peripherals. The computers run AMD Ryzen processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics cards. The peripherals include Razer BlackWidow Ultimate keyboards, DeathAdder Essential mice and Electra V2 headsets.

The same membership without the computers is available for $2,144 per year, setting the cost of each of the six computer bundles at $917. Pricing of the Vybe alone with that processor and graphics card starts at $1,349.

"One of the biggest hurdles to running a fantastic high school esports program is making sure students have access to the hardware they need to compete at their best," said Mason Mullenioux, co-founder and CEO of the league, in a statement. "Thanks to the size of HSEL's network of partnered schools, we have a unique opportunity to bring high-end gaming equipment to thousands of schools — affordably."
