VR Content Bundled with Lesson Guides Management Software

A company that specializes in enterprise virtual reality solutions has moved into the education segment with the intent of making it simpler for schools to adopt VR. SpringboardVR has introduced a VR product bundle with a dozen "tried-and-true" titles, as well as lesson guides for use by teachers and software for managing the devices.

The content includes "Frog Dissection," from VictoryVR; Fantastic Contraption from Northway Games and Radial Games; and "Titans of Space PLUS" from DrashVR, among others.

The software enables the teacher to manage multiple VR units from a single computing device, including adding time limits to viewing stations and getting alerts from students who need help. It also offers a "content launcher" to let students choose which program to launch from within the headset but also locks down the content to restrict student viewing during their sessions.

"Many schools are interested in virtual reality for education as a concept, but finding and licensing relevant educational content is difficult, and managing multiple VR stations along with the student experience can be even harder," said notes SpringboardVR CEO, Brad Scoggin, in a statement. "SpringboardVR takes the guesswork out of content selection by packaging together some of the best-loved titles in VR for secondary schools, then backing it with software, support and know-how to simplify deployment and management."

The content was curated, he added, "to cover the widest range of disciplines and grades, so all of the students within a secondary school can experience the power of VR for learning with a single technology move."
