Jewish Youth Esports Group Turns to HSEL's GenE for Community Support

Two organizations are joining together to promote diversity in esports. Generation Esports and Lost Tribe Esports are hosting multiple esports tournaments, including one for girls only that just took place.

Lost Tribe provides a "global home base" for teen and young adult gamers who are Jewish, hosting online tournaments and in-person events.

GenE, part of High School Esports League (HSEL), provides an online platform to help organizations provide esports to their members, with functionality for user and team management, community chat, rules and administration, game licensing management, revenue generation and customer service. A big area of emphasis is making sure the communities are "safe, welcoming and positive." The company works with youth groups, schools and colleges, along with corporate, military and adult recreation programs.

Under the agreement, Lost Tribe will be integrated into the GenE online tournament platform, alongside high school and middle school leagues. According to GenE, Lost Tribe is the first community organization to sign on for access to the company's tournament platform and community support services.

"We are creating a contemporary esports environment that is, both simultaneously and distinctly, Jewish," said Lenny Silberman, founder and CEO of Lost Tribe, in a press release. "Our gaming rules are guided by Jewish values, encouraging teens to reach a higher level of ethical behavior, greater sportsmanship and a deeper sense of compassion toward one another. Creating a safe and inclusive gaming space is paramount to everything we do, ensuring that all teenagers feel welcome to participate. The Generation Esports team has been a critical partner of ours along this remarkable journey."

Already this year, GenE and Lost Tribe have cohosted several tournaments each week, for Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, NBA 2K20, Madden 20, Minecraft Survival Games and GamePigeon 8-Ball.
