NetSupport Classroom Management Updated

A company that produces network and cloud-based technology for K-12 has enhanced its classroom management product. NetSupport, which develops classroom.cloud, said the newest release gives greater control to teachers over certain device components and offers additional safety features.

classroom.cloud, launched during the pandemic, helps teachers monitor student use of computers, whether the students are in class or online. It also facilitates teacher sharing of screen and audio and allows them to launch websites and applications on student devices.

The latest update lets teachers block the use of USBs and webcams and mute audio at student machines. There are also performance boosts to reduce bandwidth usage, speed up revisions to the approved or restricted list of apps and launch websites or apps on selected student devices. And tweaks to the interface now streamline activities performed by the teacher on her or his console.

The administrator portal now offers access to a list of online support resources that can be accessed by staff and students if external help is needed. Staff can also add relevant local agencies to the pre-populated list if required.

"Teachers need a simple interface to a powerful product that gets the job done," said NetSupport CEO, Al Kingsley, in a press release. "[Our products] give districts the ultimate flexibility they need to keep students safe and keep them on task while also protecting the district's infrastructure and hardware."
