Mississippi Ed Tech Provider Central Access Partners with PikMyKid for School Dismissal Management

Central Access Corp., a K–12 software provider used by most Mississippi public schools, has partnered with school safety and dismissal platform PikMyKid and will integrate their solutions for districts statewide, according to a news release.

Central Access, which has transformed from a school-supply company in the 1950s into Mississippi’s leading ed tech provider, serves 90% of the state’s 150 public K–12 school districts. Its Marathon Fund accounting software and SAM Spectra student information solution were designed specifically to meet the needs of Mississippi schools and their state requirements; additionally, the SAM Spectra data is automatically analyzed through the state Department of Education’s Ed Tech Impact program to show district and state leaders the precise impact that school tech solutions are having on student outcomes.

SAM Spectra features include management of student enrollment, attendance, grading, scheduling, discipline, special education, state reporting, calendars, a student portal, a parent portal, and an optional call notification system, according to Central Access. PikMyKid’s platform, used by over 250,000 students in 32 states, provides dismissal management and automation, parent communications, a safety panic button, and an anonymous tip line.

With the initial PikMyKid integration, Mississippi schools and parents “can expect faster and less-chaotic dismissals, all while keeping student information secure and updated in real-time,” the companies said in their announcement. “The process for adding and deleting students is seamless, managing absentees takes only a click of a button, and insights sync between classroom and delegation changes keep staff up to date on each students’ location and where they need to go on their way home from school.”

Additional integrations are in the works, according to the news release.
