Clever Unveils Expanded Identity Management Tool with New Active Directory Integration

In response to growing cybersecurity concerns combined with staffing shortages among U.S. K–12 schools, digital learning platform and single sign-on provider Clever today unveiled an expanded identity management solution that adds support for Microsoft Active Directory, the company said in a news release.

The new Clever IDM enables district IT managers to automatically manage provisioning, security, and authentication using schools’ Active Directory and Google Workspace accounts, Clever said.

Clever IDM is a subscription add-on option for the free-for-schools Clever platform, starting at $1 per user per year, according to the website. The integration with Google Workspace is available now, and the Active Directory integration will be available by the end of April, Clever said.

Once a student, teacher, or staff is added to the district SIS connected to Clever, then Clever IDM automatically creates their account, immediately giving them access to every learning resource and program connected to the district’s Clever platform. The IDM keeps user accounts current as users join, leave, or move around within the organization, saving time for administrators and IT staff, Clever said.
