Safety Software Provider Raptor Tech Partners with Alertus on Multi-Modal Mass Notifications

School safety software provider Raptor Technologies and emergency notification software provider Alertus Technologies said this week they will integrate their solutions to enhance security for K–12 schools and districts using Raptor solutions.

The new partnership combines Alertus’ emergency mass notification capabilities with Raptor's emergency management and reunification tools, giving Raptor customers more critical communication and response tools for emergencies, according to a news release.

Alertus’ integrated notification products include Alertus Desktop, IP Text-to-Speech Interface for PA systems, and a variety of hardwired and wireless activation devices, each designed to help K–12 schools automate widespread, instant alerts in an emergency.

Now, any school using Raptor Technologies’ safety solutions can automatically send emergency notifications to all alert channels unified by the Alertus Mass Notification System via Raptor Connect, the companies said.

Alertus will also offer Raptor Alert customers free Alertus Desktop and Alertus Desktop for Chrome alerting software that, when triggered in an emergency, instantly overrides computer displays with notifications that are customizable by admins. The free software offer is funded by Alertus' Safe in Seconds Initiative, a philanthropic effort, the company said.

"By integrating with Alertus, we're expanding the ways users can rapidly access Raptor Alert to trigger an alert and increasing the ways a campus can be notified of an emergency," said Chris Noell, chief product officer at Raptor.

Raptor Alert is used by 7,500 schools across the United States, the company said, and a handful of states including Texas, Florida, New Jersey and New York have earmarked funding or created mandates to make mobile panic alerts available to schools.

Alertus is used by hundreds of K–12 schools and districts across North America, according to the news release; its solutions include software, hardware, and integrations with legacy alerting systems.
