LatinX Ed Tech Summit 'Bridging the Digital Divide' Tackles Sustainable Solutions for Underserved Areas

The Success Through Technology Education (STTE) Foundation will hold its second annual LatinX Ed Tech Summit, “Bridging the Digital Divide,” on June 16, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. It will focus on three key goals to develop digital education solutions for underserved areas, especially rural and LatinX communities.

The one-day summit will feature the first-ever holographic teacher awards demo, five discussion/action panels, and an entertaining shark tank-style “pipeline pitch” from ed tech entrepreneurs to superintendents.

Goals for the summit include:

  • Exploring how LatinX educators and entrepreneurs have fared during the pandemic and addressed culturally specific challenges;

  • Recognizing educators’ successes during the past year over problematic disruptions to education; and

  • Inspiring educators to leave the summit with a plan and purpose for going forward with actionable goals.

The keynote speaker will be Maria Armstrong, executive director of ALAS (Association of Latino Administrators & Superintendents).

“The Ed Tech Summit promises to be a vibrant gathering of superintendents, ed tech founders, investors, education foundations, and economic development professionals, all coming together to explore the latest trends and advancements in education technology,” said Armstrong. “This year’s summit will feature high-level panel discussions and an innovative ed tech pitch competition showcasing emerging technologies solving education’s top challenges. In addition, through a virtual teacher awards ceremony, the summit will also recognize teachers for their best-in-class lessons.”

The summit will be held June 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST, at the Starlight Event Center, 6650 Continental Drive, El Paso, Texas 79902. Cost is $199. To learn more about the summit and to register, visit the summit page.
