Georgia Cyber Academy Extends Relationship with Discovery Education to Integrate Digital Resources into Instruction

Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) has extended its multi-year partnership with Discovery Education to help create engaging digital learning experiences for its 11,000 students.

Teachers at the statewide, tuition-free, online public charter school will continue to integrate Discovery Education's digital resources into their curriculum, the company said, including:

  • Discovery Education Experience, the company's K-12 learning platform featuring standards-aligned content, ready-to-use digital lessons, intuitive quiz and activity creation tools, and professional learning resources;
  • Science Techbook, a K-12 core curriculum that includes engaging digital resources, hands-on activity kits, virtual investigations, and custom professional learning; and
  • Social Studies Techbook, a standards-aligned, core-curricular resource that uses an inquiry-based approach to enhance literacy and critical thinking skills.

Through the partnership, all GCA teachers can also access the Discovery Educator Network, a global community that connects education professionals through social media, virtual conferences, a community platform, and in-person events.

"Georgia Cyber Academy is dedicated to creating an interactive virtual learning environment that supports individualized and differentiated student-centered educational experiences," said Maria Blencowe, communications director at Georgia Cyber Academy. "Our extended partnership with Discovery Education will continue to help our educators meet this goal for all students."

"Discovery Education is excited to continue its long-time collaboration with the Georgia Cyber Academy," said Lyndley McNabb, Discovery Education's partnership manager. "We are proud to support Georgia Cyber Academy's innovative efforts to deliver individualized and differentiated student-centered educational experiences."
