According to data released by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the vast majority of public schools offer summer and after-school programs, many with an academic focus, taught by full-time teachers, and most at no cost to families, but overall participation is low.

A recent nationwide poll by state-based education funding company Odyssey showed that a majority (73%) of parents want access to publicly funded, state-based K–12 education programs. These include Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), microgrants, and other funding.

Stanford University is launching a new advanced program within its Stanford Online High School, called Stanford Pre-Collegiate University-Level Online Immersive. Its first "Immersive" online course for high school students will be a course based on a curriculum for first-year Stanford students, Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra.

AI company Merlyn Mind has launched an education-specific tool designed for the classroom and built around a large language model created using vetted educational resources, as opposed to AI tools built on broader internet content.
Digital curriculum provider Imagine Learning, in a new survey of K–12 educators’ perceptions and uses of generative AI, found that 90% of respondents believe the technology has the potential to make education more accessible for students who need personalized learning methods.

New York City-based InnovateEDU has announced the revival of the EdSAFE AI Alliance to promote the responsible use of AI in education on a global scale. The organization is a coalition of education/learning and technology partners dedicated to fostering AI policy, collaboration, and best practices in K–12 education.

Hybrid learning platform ClassIn has launched its courseware management platform TeacherIn, which promises to bring curriculum and instructional content discovery, editing, and distribution into one platform that integrates with its namesake LMS and allows teachers and content creators to “monetize their work,” the company said in a news release.

Educators reported seeing more growth in students’ academic achievement during the 2022–23 school year, and two-thirds of educators believe that technology connecting instruction and assessment on one platform “has the power to transform teaching and learning,” according to a national survey conducted for HMH’s 2023 Educator Confidence Report.
