Kaplan Launches Online Toolkit for Common Core Transition

Kaplan K12 Learning Services has launched an online platform, Teach! Strategies and Resources, with professional development tools designed to help teachers transition to Common Core State Standards.

According to information released by the company, the new service is based on pedagogical best practices and aligned to state standards in addition to Common Core Standards "with resources to support rigorous differentiated instruction, training, and assessment." Features include:

  • An online library with more than 3,000 lessons, assessments, and videos searchable by grade, subject area, and standard;
  • Multimedia resources, case studies, activities, and other tools for professional development; and
  • Reporting tools designed to measure teacher, school, and district usage.

"As schools and districts shift from policy to practice with the Common Core State Standards, Teach! Strategies & Resources provides time-saving and practical tools based on research and differentiated instruction to improve teacher effectiveness," said Justin Serrano, president, Kaplan K12 and College Prep. "This program is designed to provide lesson-planning resources and professional development assets to support teachers as they transition from what students need to do now on state-specific standards and what they’ll need to do in the future."

Teach! Strategies and Resources is available for grades 2-12. Annual licenses for individual teachers cost $59. A one-year school license costs $1,900. More information is available at kaplank12.com.
