Study Tool Adds Formative Assessment Feature
A new tool aims to give teachers a better way to track student progress and outcomes.
StudyBlue, a Madison, WI-based education technology provider, has launched Class Stats, a new formative assessment tool designed to help teachers better understand how students are mastering subject material. Class Stats builds on the self-assessment feature of StudyBlue's mobile and social study platform, aggregating data collected from individual and group study sessions. Teachers can use this data to gauge student mastery of material and tailor their instruction accordingly.
"Teachers want better ways to understand and motivate study behavior that's directly connected to improved outcomes," said StudyBlue CEO Becky Splitt, in a prepared statement. "With Class Stats they can seamlessly integrate StudyBlue into their routine without having to change curriculum, learn new technology or secure district funds."
Class Stats is built into the StudyBlue's mobile study app. Students use the cross-platform app to review content assigned by their teacher, create outlines and flashcards, connect with other students, or access StudyBlue's library of resources.
StudyBlue is available online and from the iTunes and Google Play store. Additional information about StudyBlue and Class Stats is available at the company's Web site.
