Brief: Budget Passes Senate, Heads to President's Desk
The Senate today passed a $1.1 trillion budget that includes $70.6 billion for education. Two winners in the deal, as previously covered by thejournal.com, include Pell Grants and early childhood education programs.
Next the budget, passed 72-26, will go to President Obama, who will likely sign it before midnight on Saturday.
