Smart Debuts Virtual Dry Erase Board Compatible With Tablets, Smartphones
Smart Technologies has just launched a new digital capture board that uses ink like a dry-erase board, but can virtually beam its contents in real-time to digital devices, like a tablet.
The device, called Smart kapp, uses a typical ink marker, and work is saved as a final product in PDF or JPEG format and shared instantly. Users can access the saved work via a dedicated smartphone/tablet app, that will be made available for free on iOS and Android (support for Windows devices is also in the works).
The app activates live web-sharing with up to five users, access to the snapshot library, and the ability to open saved notes in Evernote. Later this year, the company will launch subscription services within the app which open up advanced features for cloud collaboration, including more concurrent user support.
It retails for $899 for a 42 inch device. A larger size board will be available later in the year.
