Education.com Offers 1,000 Lesson Plans for $75 Subscription

With teachers paying an average of $500 of their own money on school supplies each year, Education.com is touting a $75 per year subscription service that might ease this financial burden. According to the company, more than 1,000 new teacher-created lesson plans are now available for subscribers.

Membership in Education.com Pro includes access to thousands of additional resources, educational games and lesson plans. Rich Yang, Co-CEO of Education.com, said "One in four U.S. teachers rely on Education.com for various classroom and lesson plan related materials, and we understand the importance of providing an abundance of these resources to educators in one portal. As we continue to release new lesson plans over the coming weeks, we … are looking forward to the feedback of trusted educators in all school settings."

Subscribers to Education.com Pro will have access to new materials for educators of preschool through fifth grade students, in subjects including math, science, reading and social studies. The $75 subscription provides full access to new lesson plans each week, and more than 1,000 will be available in the fall.

According to an Education.com press release, each lesson plan is created by classroom teachers, with classroom realities taken into account. Each lesson has an outline, estimated time frame, learning objectives, list of materials, preparation description, worksheets, supplemental games, ideas for differentiation and key terms.

Title 1 schools are eligible for financial help with subscriptions thanks to a $1 million pledge from Education.com. Eligible teachers at Title 1 schools must register at education.com/give by Oct. 1, 2015, to take advantage of pledge dollars.
