Sycamore Education Integrates More Features With Google Apps for Education

Sycamore Education has added more features to its student information system (SIS) designed to improve integrate with Google Apps for Education.

With the latest new features added to Sycamore School, the company's K-12 platform, schools can create Google accounts for students and staff, sync up with existing Google users and add Google Classroom from within the Sycamore School SIS.

Previously, Sycamore had integrated with Google Mail, Maps, Books, Drive and Calendar.

The latest enhancements allow additional functionality within the SIS. Organizational units in Google allow schools to assign permissions pertaining to Google Apps for Education. Google Classrooms can also be created and connected from within Sycamore, using class rosters already set up in the system.

By Connecting the Sycamore class page with their Google Classroom site, teachers can use tools offered by each program using information already available.

"This additional integration with Google holds great potential for our schools," said Sycamore Education CEO Glen Ellis. "With more technology-related resources being used in the classroom, to be able to connect those resources with the school information system at the classroom and schools levels, and have them work together, becomes very valuable."
