Scientific Learning, Kiko Labs Partner on School Prep

Scientific Learning and Kiko Labs have partnered to release Kiko's Thinking Time, a new iPad app designed to help improve school readiness for pre-K learners.

A cognitive training program that aims to improve school success skills through games, Kiko's Thinking Time was designed by neuroscientists at Harvard and University of California, Berkeley. Areas addressed by the app include inhibition, working memory, cognitive flexibility, selective attention, reasoning and spatial skills.

"While executive function and reasoning skills are critical for a child's success in school, their development isn't guaranteed. They can be impacted by socioeconomic status, demands on single parents or busy working families, as well as overburdened schools and teachers," said Grace Wardhana, co-founder of Kiko Labs, in a prepared statement. "Kiko's Thinking Time targets behaviors that train these skills, which are so important to a child's development and school readiness. We're delighted to have the opportunity to bring this program to schools and districts to help early learners build the foundational skills for school success."

A one-year school license for Kiko's Thinking Time is available for $2,000. More information is available at kikolabs.com.
