NEC Debuts Large Display for Collaboration

NEC Display has unveiled a new 70-inch display that allows a presenter and up to 19 other participants with their own devices to collaborate on creating content on it as if it were a whiteboard.

In launching the NEC MultiSync E705-DNT, NEC Display has partnered with TouchSystems in order to offer DisplayNote software, an app that lets presenters and participants present, share and annotate content from almost any device, including PCs, tablets and smartphones. Participants can also take notes and automatically save them.

"Collaboration is the key attribute," said Keith Yanke, senior director of product marketing for large screen displays and projectors for NEC Displays. "People can share knowledge, annotate and pass control to participants with this display."

The new display offers 12-point touch and comes with a full scheduler feature and thermostatic cooling capabilities.

Features include:

  • Full-metal chassis and a panel with LED backlighting;
  • Internal 10-watt speakers;
  • An input panel with multiple connections;
  • Infrared sensor and button lock;
  • ECO Mode, which cuts power consumption; and
  • Auto start-up options.

An open pluggable specification option slot allows PCs, tuner modules and HDBaseT receivers to integrate directly into the display.

Along with a three-year limited parts and labor warranty, the E705-DNT is now available at an advertised price of $5,399.
