Epson Drops Price of Projector Replacement Lamps
Epson is cutting the cost of replacement lamps
for its entire line of PowerLite short-throw and ultra short-throw
projectors
as well as its BrightLink interactive projectors.
Replacement
lamps for those models will now cost
$49, down from previous prices that could range as high as $200. The
company
said it was lowering the price to reduce the overall cost of projector
ownership and increase cost-efficiency for classroom projection
technology.

this new reduced pricing, Epson is
providing schools with the best overall value in display technology,"
said
Jason Meyer, senior projectors product manager for Epson America. "The
$49 lamp
cost marries with our affordable projectors to provide thousands of
hours of
high-quality projection. We strive to provide extraordinary
reliability,
service, support and tools at a low cost of ownership to enable an
equal
opportunity for success in all classrooms."
With
most Epson projector lamps having a lifetime
of 6,000 to 10,000 hours, it should be possible now for educators to
use their
projectors in the classrooms for very long periods of time for little
to no
additional cost.
Epson's
PowerLite projectors can network up to 50
personal devices with teachers able to wirelessly
control
which devices are displayed. Its BrightLink projectors can
project
images onto any existing whiteboard, wall or smooth surface and offers
dual pen
support and PC-free annotation with a wide range of devices including
document
cameras, DVD and Blue-ray players as well as tablets and mobile devices.
