Odysseyware To Focus on Innovation in New Event Series

Online curriculum provider Odysseyware is launching a new series of live and virtual events on innovations in instructional models.

Topics that will be covered in the new School Transformation Series include competency-based learning, customization, student choice and rethinking credit recovery. The series of live and virtual events, webinars and weekly blog posts will be free.

Webinars already recorded and available on the School Transformation Series website are "Designing Competency-Based Pathways for Next-Generation Learners" and "Using Customization To Address Diverse Learner Needs," both featuring Denise Hoy of Agee Lierly Life Preparation Services. A virtual event, "Inside Out: Embedding Digital Learning Options Into a School District" is already available on the site as well.

Upcoming virtual events include:

  • "True Career Readiness for All," 10 a.m. PDT on April 27;
  • "Val Verde Academy: A Successful Blended Learning Model," 9 a.m. PDT on May 5; and
  • "Innovative College and Career Readiness Technology Integration," 11 a.m. PDT on May 11.

"It's our mission to not only provide high-quality online curriculum to schools across the nation, but to empower all educators and schools to create the best possible environment for their students to learn in," said Odysseyware President Beth TeGrotenhuis. "The School Transformation Series will highlight the best and brightest minds within education, including forward-thinking district administrators, school leaders, support staff and teachers. We look to create an environment that fosters collaborative learning among educators, something that will make all our schools better for education."
