iNACOL to Host Personalized Learning State Policy Webinar

The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will host a webinar Tuesday, June 21 designed to look into promising state policies designed to enable and scale personalized learning.

"In this webinar, co-hosted by iNACOL and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the presenters will discuss policy opportunities and specific state examples that other states can look to in crafting their own legislation," according to a news release. "The webinar will highlight the different entry points for states, with policies for getting started and launching initiatives, moving forward with specific policies to support personalized learning or taking a comprehensive policy approach."

Presenters for the free webinar will include:

  • Maria Worthen, vice president for federal and state policy at iNACOL;
  • Dale Frost, state policy director, iNACOL;
  • Susan Gentz, policy manager for iNACOL; and
  • Sunny Deye, program principal of the education program for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

"Students, teachers and school leaders are seeking flexibility and supports to enable powerful, personalized learning opportunities," said Worthen, in a prepared statement. "This webinar will explore how education leaders can advance a set of coordinated policies to enable personalized learning, helping to close the graduation, learning and equity gaps for all students."
